Hourglass

I did this illustration on commission of the band MILLENIUM (with one "n" ). The band just gave me the album title and that they wanted something with "blue". In the "scraps"-section here you can also view my original idea for the artwork (and also some funny model photo). When they saw the sketch, they liked the main idea, but they asked for pyramids, as pyramids would always look good in their eyes AND… they did not want to have an hourglass in the whole painting by all means. I could not understand that at all, as I always want the artwork to be fitting with the album title…
So I just placed an hourglass very small in the hand of the boy…
