"They Did Not Pass", acrylics on illustration board, 100 x 70 cm / 40 x 27.6 in.
I painted the Verdun War Memorial, the victorious skeleton man statue from Mort Homme (Dead Man Hill) in a very dark and stunning way like an apparition … on the ground one can see a forsaken battlefield covered by mist/fog (and a trench filled with fog)… no details on the ground, but everybody can imagine what had happened here… |
